City: Sacramento Price Range: Inexpensive Cuisine: American, Bistro, Cafes, California, Hamburgers Special Features: Breakfast, Brunch - Weekend, Good for Groups, Kid-Friendly, Lunch, Outdoor Dining, Take-Out Eating clam chowder from an original San Francisco sourdough bread bowl is no longer just for people living adjacent to the Golden Gate Bridge. Boudin SF is a charming new addition to the Loehmann’s Plaza—along Fair Oaks Boulevard—and it gives us access to “The City” sans Fishermans Wharf. The new café is “fast casual” with counter and sit-down service. The dining area is lively, and there is also a small outdoor patio. Boudin boasts a diverse selection of comfort American classics, such as grilled cheese (made with havarti, cheddar, parmesan and served on chunky sourdough bread), the baguette burger (Niman Ranch beef on a garlic baguette), sourdough crust pizza and a hearty crab mac n’cheese. It also has a breakfast menu with sandwiches, pizzas made with bacon, tomato and egg, and French toast of sourdough bread. Cindy Arora
