Crepeville1730 L St. City: Sacramento Price Range: Inexpensive Cuisine: California, Hamburgers Special Features: Breakfast, Dog Friendly, Free Internet, Great Desserts, Kids' Menu It would seem that in a place called Crepeville, your best bet would be the crepes, no? But, while you stare at the wall-size chalkboard menu—and let people jump ahead of you in line as you decide—eating becomes a complicated decision. Design-your-own omelet, smoked tofu scramble, the seafood fettuccini or how about the restaurants award-winning half pound burger? It’s not an easy decision. If a paper-thin crepe (French word for “pancake) is your pleasure, choose from savory, sweet and design-your-own options. There’s the Greek delight made with onions, artichoke hearts and feta cheese and the Californian with avocado, spinach and sun-dried tomato pesto. For a dessert crepe, servers recommend anything with nutella. This popular restaurant is busy for lunch and crawling with locals on the weekends. It’s a cash-only, so leave the credit cards at home.
